Only team to defeat Fnatic in 2023 VCT Champions eliminated first

Liquid’s VALORANT Roster Disappoints at VCT Champions 2023

Team Liquid’s highly anticipated VALORANT roster faltered at VCT Champions 2023, losing to LOUD in a lopsided match. The Brazilian squad’s victory has given their fans hope for a resurgence.

Prior to the tournament, Liquid was seen by many as a strong contender to make it to the playoffs. They had won the EMEA League and were the only team to defeat Europe’s powerhouse team, Fnatic. Despite a lackluster performance at Masters Tokyo, fans believed in Liquid’s potential for a deep run in Los Angeles.

In today’s match, however, Liquid failed to withstand the defending champions’ revitalized efforts. LOUD dominated the first map, winning 13-2 and displaying outstanding teamwork from every player.

Although the second map was more closely contested, LOUD showcased remarkable coordination, tactical knowledge, and individual brilliance. They did not solely rely on their star duelist, Erick “aspas” Santos, for success. Cauan “cauanzin” Pereira and Arthur “tuyz” Vieira combined for an impressive 57 kills and effectively used their abilities to thwart Liquid’s strategies throughout the match.

On the other hand, Liquid struggled to find synergy and execute their strategies effectively. They often got caught out without support while peeking angles, and their team play left much to be desired in the face of LOUD’s formidable defenses.

Many doubted LOUD’s performance at Champions due to reports of internal problems that had affected their relationship with Aspas. However, their victory today showed that last year’s champions can rise to the occasion and potentially defend their title with an extraordinary run.
