VALORANT Champions Tour Americas 2023: What You Need to Know
The VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Americas 2023 season is just around the corner, and with it comes the opportunity for teams to secure a spot at the prestigious Masters Tokyo tournament and the VCT Champions 2023. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect from this highly-anticipated esports event.
Format and Schedule
According to the official announcement, the VCT Americas 2023 season will consist of a round-robin regular season followed by a double-elimination playoff bracket. The top six teams from the regular season will advance to the playoffs, where the top three teams will earn a slot at Masters Tokyo and VCT Champions 2023.
After Masters Tokyo, there will be a Last Chance Qualifier for each region, where one team will earn a final slot at the Champions event.
Teams and Attendance
A total of 12 teams will be competing at Masters Tokyo, including three teams from each international league, an additional team from EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) following Fnatic’s victory at LOCK//IN, and two invited teams from China.
For the Champions 2023 event, there are expected to be 16 teams in attendance. This will include the top three teams from each VCT league, the winners of the three Last Chance Qualifiers, and four more teams yet to be determined.
VCT Americas Season Details
The VCT Americas season will feature 10 teams from North America, LATAM, and Brazil. Matches will be held at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. The regular season will consist of weekly matches on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with an exception of one superweek where each team will play twice for five straight days.
The season will run from April 1 to May 20, with the playoffs taking place from May 23 to 28. The Last Chance Qualifier is scheduled for July 15 to 23.
