October’s NA VCT Last Chance Qualifier Introduces 10-Team Double-Elimination Format

VALORANT Masters Berlin: Last Chance Qualifier Format Revealed

Get ready for a heated competition in the world of competitive VALORANT next month as 16 teams gear up to battle it out at Masters Berlin. However, before the championship, teams will have one last shot to prove themselves at the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ).

Riot Games has unveiled the format for the NA Last Chance Qualifier, which will take place from October 12th to 17th. A total of 10 teams will go head-to-head for the opportunity to represent their region in the prestigious Champions tournament in December. While Sentinels have already secured their spot, there are still available slots for North American teams to grab.

The LCQ is an exclusive LAN event that will feature a double-elimination format. Although the matches will be livestreamed, there will be no live audience due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, as mentioned by Riot.

Out of the 10 teams participating in the LCQ, eight will be selected based on their circuit points in North America (excluding teams already qualified for Champions). Additionally, the winner and runner-up of Oceania’s championship will also earn an invitation, giving the smaller region a chance to shine on the big stage.

Sentinels have already secured their spot in Champions and will not participate in the LCQ. If Envy or 100 Thieves emerge as the winners of Masters Berlin, they will also qualify directly for Champions and open up another slot for North America. Otherwise, the North American team with the second-highest circuit points will secure a spot in Champions, sending the rest of the teams to compete in the LCQ.

Envy, 100 Thieves, Version1, FaZe, XSET, Luminosity, Cloud9 Blue, Gen.G, and Rise currently have a sufficient number of points to qualify for the LCQ. If Envy or 100 Thieves win in Berlin, TSM will then secure a spot in the LCQ, keeping their dreams alive for at least one more tournament.
