NRG introduces substitute player from Valorant content creation team for professional roster

NRG names content creator as sixth man for VALORANT roster

North American organization NRG has chosen one of its content creators to be the sixth man on their VALORANT roster, as reported by the Global Contract Database.

On March 13, NRG decided to part ways with substitute player Zander “thwifo” Kim, even though he had not played a single match for the team. NRG has now replaced him with Alan “ethos” Ruan, according to the database.

Known for his popularity as a content creator under the NRG banner, Ethos has gained around half a million followers on Twitch and has accumulated approximately nine million views in total, according to Twitch Tracker.

Although Ethos competes at a high rank in VALORANT, he does have some competitive experience. He participated in the North American Challengers league qualification matches with the team ‘Skwirel Warriers’. The team made it to the top 32 with a few victories but was eventually eliminated in the lower bracket by ‘Happy2bHere’, despite Ethos leading the charge for his team with an average damage of 174 per round.

However, Ethos has yet to compete professionally, and it is unlikely that he will be given any game time for the team. NRG has already solidified their core roster with former OpTic superstars and Ardis Svarenieks.

Ethos will be available as a substitute if any of the players from the roster are unable to compete.

NRG’s first match in the Americas international league will be against Leviatán on April 3, concluding the first week of competition.
