NRG Eliminates DRX in VCT Masters Tokyo Playoffs

The playoff bracket of VCT Masters Tokyo is underway, and some of the biggest names in VALORANT have already faced elimination. DRX, one of the most experienced teams in the game, was knocked out by America’s NRG.

After both teams finished second in their respective regions, this showdown happened earlier than expected. NRG, despite a tough performance the previous day, dominated DRX with a 2-0 victory.

Ardiis, the star player of the match, showcased his skills with an average combat score of 268 across both maps. His incredible Jett play in the game’s decisive moments sealed the victory for NRG.

In the post-match press conference, ardiis expressed his team’s need for a quick 2-0 victory after their poor performance the previous day. He believed it was the perfect result for NRG.

DRX and NRG are familiar opponents, having faced each other in multiple international tournaments. NRG’s core players, formerly part of OpTic, have consistently bested DRX in previous encounters.

The next map of the series was Haven, known for the teams’ excellent strategies. However, DRX’s curse on this map continued, as NRG dominated them with their superior gameplay. Ardiis once again stood out with his impactful performance.

NRG’s in-game leader, FiNESSE, acknowledged DRX’s disciplined playstyle in an interview. NRG’s success against DRX relied on countering their disciplined approach.

With their victory over DRX, NRG moves forward in the lower bracket and awaits their next opponent. Their next game will take place on June 20 at 10pm CT.
