Ninjas in Pyjamas dominantly defeat Fnatic in 2022 VCT Masters Reykjavík group stage

Ninjas in Pyjamas Prove Their Valor in VCT Masters Reykjavik with Victory Over Fnatic

In the opening match of Group B, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) showcased their dominance in VALORANT by defeating Fnatic 2-0. This victory highlights the skill and potential of the Brazilian team in the competitive scene.

Facing off on Fnatic’s map pick, Ascent, NiP quickly established their superiority over the European team. In the intense pistol round, NiP successfully retook B site, setting the tone for the first half. Despite Fnatic killing three players in round two, it had limited impact on NiP’s economy as they didn’t secure the round. Fnatic invested in a full buy in round three but failed to take a site and capitalize on their resources.

NiP continued their dominance in round four, forcing Fnatic to call their first timeout. Despite the short break, Fnatic still struggled to take a site in round five. NiP’s bnj displayed exceptional skills by holding A site and eliminating four enemies in round six.

In round seven, Fnatic attempted a fake push into A site using Killjoy’s lockdown, and H1ber pulled off an impressive ace to secure their first win of the series. This round win gave Fnatic some momentum as they went on to win the next three rounds. However, NiP’s Jonn halted Fnatic’s progression in round 10 with four kills, almost singlehandedly holding B site. NiP concluded the first half by winning the final two rounds and securing a commanding 9-3 scoreline.

In the second half, NiP aggressively pushed into B site during the pistol round, but Fnatic managed to hold the site with minimal casualties. Fnatic also won the bonus round, but NiP overwhelmed them in round 15. Despite Fnatic’s efforts to prevent a snowball effect from NiP, they won the next two rounds, closing the gap.

Round 18 was crucial for NiP as losing would force them to save, but bnj’s impressive one-vs-three victory secured the round and maintained their lead. NiP continued their stronghold on Ascent, winning the last three rounds and clinching the first map of the series.

The starting round of Split favored Fnatic as they won the pistol round, but NiP quickly turned the tides and dominated the first half. Although Fnatic secured sporadic wins, they only managed to secure four rounds while playing defense. NiP’s mechanical prowess was on display, with xand securing a kill right after using Raze’s ultimate ability, despite just landing. Fnatic’s highlights in the first half were few, such as narrowly defusing the spike in round 12 and a Sage resurrection by Fearoth resulting in a kill.

NiP claimed victory in the second pistol round and bonus round, putting Fnatic in a critical situation in round 15. Fnatic fought back and won rounds 15, 16, and 17, but NiP halted their momentum in round 18. Fnatic quickly responded with a win in round 19, but NiP secured a Thrifty round win in round 20, bringing the series to match point. Jonn showcased his skill with three impressive kills, securing NiP’s advancement to the Group A Winner’s match.

In the next stage, NiP will face off against DRX in the Group A Winner’s match. Meanwhile, Fnatic will have a chance to survive the group stage by defeating Zeta Division in the Group A elimination match.
