Next-generation Turkish VALORANT talent reportedly joining Team Heretics

Rostermania Continues: Turkish Talent Wo0t Joins Team Heretics

In the ongoing VALORANT 2023-2024 off-season rosters changes, Team Heretics has made a significant signing by adding Turkish flex player Mert “Wo0t” Alkan to their lineup. Wo0t, previously a member of Challengers team Fire Flux Esports, has reached a verbal agreement with Heretics, according to blix.gg. However, due to his age, Wo0t will not be eligible to compete until he turns 18 in March 2024.

Team Heretics recognized the need for changes after their performance in 2023. They benched former Champions MVP Aleksander “zeek” Zygmunt in an attempt to improve their season. Despite finishing eighth in the EMEA league with a 2-7 record, they showed promise in the Last Chance Qualifier with the addition of Benjy “benjyfishy” Fish. Now, with the signing of Wo0t, Heretics looks to solidify their roster for the upcoming season.

Wo0t is known for his strong initiator play, earning him the Turkish league MVP in Split 1 for his performances with Neon, Jett, and Raze. While it is unclear which role he will fill on the team, his addition brings new potential to Heretics. They may need to sign another player to temporarily fill Wo0t’s role until he becomes eligible to compete.

Since Wo0t will not be able to play until March 2024, Heretics will need to find a temporary replacement for the first few games of the regular season. This may involve activating Auni “AvovA” Chahade, who was benched earlier in the off-season. The addition of Wo0t and the potential return of AvovA gives Heretics flexibility in their roster composition.

Only time will tell if Wo0t will make a significant impact in the league, joining the ranks of other Turkish stars like Emir “Alfajer” Beder and Mehmet “cNed” İpek. Regardless, the arrival of another Turkish talent is an exciting development for the franchised league.
