Newest Bug Makes Sentinel’s Ability Unusable in VALORANT

VALORANT Players Discover Glitch in Deadlock’s Barrier Mesh Ability

In a recent post on social media, VALORANT players have uncovered a glitch in Deadlock’s Barrier Mesh ability, raising doubts about its usefulness. The glitch allows players to break one of the walls in the ability, rendering it ineffective.

The glitch can be replicated with any Barrier Mesh by simply maneuvering through a small gap between a wall and the Barrier Mesh. A Reddit post from July 31 demonstrates how to perform the glitch.

It seems the Barrier deactivates to prevent players from getting stuck inside the wall, similar to mechanics found in other games. However, in trying to solve one problem, Riot has inadvertently created another.

This is the second glitch discovered in Deadlock’s Barrier Mesh since its release on June 27. Players have encountered various glitches that allow them to break down walls and gain unauthorized access to bomb sites, rendering Deadlock’s abilities ineffective as a sentinel.

Previously, players could counter Deadlock’s utility using similar equipment. For example, an opposing Deadlock could throw a Barrier Mesh into yours, causing it to shut down. While this offers a unique method to counter the agent, it is an unintended and unwelcome side effect.

Aside from Barrier Mesh, other abilities of Deadlock have also encountered issues. For instance, players noticed that Deadlock’s ultimate ability, Annihilation, can completely remove the spike from the map. If caught in Deadlock’s Annihilation while using an Omen ultimate, players would instantly die and lose the bomb.

Not only would Deadlock likely secure the round, but their score would also skyrocket as a result. This bug would make Deadlock the MVP of the match, with no one able to surpass their score.

Riot has its work cut out for them. The purpose of the VALORANT PBE is to identify and address such issues, and it is likely that multiple adjustments will be made in the next beta-testing weekend scheduled for August 4.
