New VALORANT Eligibility Rule to be Implemented in Galorants Game Changers Academy Tournaments

Galorants Implements New Rule for Eligibility Requirements in VALORANT Game Changers Academy Tournaments

According to a report from Game Changers Report, Galorants is set to implement a new rule that will tighten eligibility requirements for teams participating in their VALORANT Game Changers Academy tournaments.

Teams Required to Play Together for Two Weeks

In order to be eligible for the tournaments, teams will now be required to have played together for a minimum of two weeks prior to registration.

Adoption of VCT Game Changers Ruleset

The new rule is being introduced as Game Changers Academy adopts the same ruleset as VCT Game Changers, provided by Riot. Galorants delayed the enforcement of the rule by one month to allow teams and players to adjust, as well as to ensure proper communication of the rule.

Proof of Two Weeks of Playtime

While the exact method of proving two weeks of playtime is unclear, VALORANT teams must demonstrate that they have played together for the required duration in order to sign up for the tournament. Substitutions are allowed, but the rule applies to the core five-player roster.

Individuals looking to enter Game Changers Academy tournaments as a free agent team will need to provide VALORANT match histories or other evidence showing that they have played together for at least two weeks.

The next Game Changers Academy tournament will commence on Sept. 30, and the new eligibility requirement will be in effect for all players participating in the event.

To compete in GCA September, teams must finalize their rosters by Sept. 12 and register before the deadline on Sept. 26.
