New Roster Change in Excel: RUBINO and Moe40 come in for Davidp and B1GGY

Excel Makes Changes to VALORANT Roster

British esports organization Excel has made significant changes to its VALORANT team. The team has mutually parted ways with former captain David “Davidp” Prins and rifler Morgan “B1GGY” Madour due to the team not improving quickly enough to compete at the highest level. In response, Excel has signed Ruben “RUBINO” Villarroel from Heretics and former Fnatic player Muhammad “Moe40” Hariff for the upcoming VCT events.

Welcome RUBINO and Moe40 to the Excel Brand

The announcement regarding the VALORANT roster was made on Twitter by Excel. RUBINO, a former CS:GO player, is well-known for his time with Dignitas, North, and Heroic. He officially transitioned to VALORANT in January 2021 after joining Heretics. Notably, he helped Heretics reach the grand finals of the VCT Europe Stage One Masters. Moe40, on the other hand, was part of the SUMN FC roster that lost the First Strike Europe championship to Heretics. The 20-year-old was later signed by Fnatic but eventually ended up getting benched in April.

New Roles and Leadership

Excel’s co-founder and CGO Kieran Holmes-Darby expressed excitement about the new signings, stating that RUBINO brings a wealth of experience from his time in Counter-Strike. He also praised Moe40’s talent and believes he has room to grow within the roster. In addition to the roster changes, Excel has transferred the in-game leading responsibilities to Vincent “Happy” Schopenhauer, a former CS:GO player who joined Excel’s VALORANT team in March 2021.

Excel’s Goals for the Future

Excel is confident that this new lineup, combined with Happy’s leadership, will be able to challenge the best teams in Europe. The organization hopes to win its first major VALORANT trophy in the near future.
