New bug in VALORANT causes the Spike to mysteriously disappear

Deadlock’s Spike Bug Causes Chaos in VALORANT

It’s been a week since Deadlock was introduced in VALORANT and players are both excited and frustrated with the new agent. Like any new release, bugs are to be expected, and Deadlock is no exception. One of the most significant bugs players have encountered with her is the complete disappearance of the Spike.

In a post on the VALORANT subreddit on July 2, a player shared a game-breaking interaction involving Omen’s and Deadlock’s ultimate abilities.

In the video, we witness Omen and Deadlock activating their ultimate abilities almost simultaneously. However, once the abilities and animations conclude, Omen is found dead on the spot where he intended to teleport, and the Spike he was carrying has completely vanished from the map.

This interaction becomes even stranger when we consider that Deadlock’s ultimate should usually trigger a cocoon animation, wherein the targeted agent is pulled towards Deadlock before exploding. However, in this case, there is no cocoon animation, and Omen takes an absurd amount of damage (over 900,000) and is instantly eliminated upon teleporting.

Fortunately, Deadlock will be disabled for the VCT Last Chance Qualifier events, preventing professional players from dealing with the numerous bugs she’s causing. This problematic Omen-Deadlock interaction has been reported in a bug mega thread on the VALORANT subreddit. For now, all we can do is patiently wait for Riot Games to address and fix the issue.
