NBK to make his debut as a professional VALORANT player this week

Former CS:GO Pro NBK- to Make Professional Debut in VALORANT at DreamHack Beyond Europe

Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt, a former professional CS:GO player and two-time Counter-Strike Major champion, will be making his professional debut in VALORANT at the online tournament DreamHack Beyond Europe. This comes one month after he announced his switch to Riot Games’ FPS.

NBK- will be playing as the in-game leader for a mix team called Stir Fry, which includes four up-and-coming players: Mathias “matti” Nielsen, Lewis “YaBoiLewis” Hughes, Stokesy, and Jamie.

On Twitter, NBK- wrote, “Playing my very first VALORANT tournament tomorrow while IGLing an international mix with no team experience from me before? Surely it can’t go wrong [laughs].”

Despite being under contract with OG CS:GO, NBK- has been on the bench since February 2021. In CS:GO, he took on in-game leading responsibilities, but more as a secondary caller rather than a dedicated captain.

Although DreamHack Beyond Europe is a small tournament, it provides NBK- with the opportunity to showcase his VALORANT skills in a professional environment. As the most decorated CS:GO player to switch to Riot Games’ FPS, there are high expectations surrounding him. Since his retirement from CS:GO, he has been regularly streaming PUGs on Twitch.

NBK-‘s performance in DreamHack Beyond Europe will surely catch the attention of organizations, especially given his large fanbase. Prior to his time with OG, he played for notable organizations like Vitality, G2, and Envy.

Dreamhack Beyond Europe will take place from July 29 to 31, and NBK- will be streaming the action on his Twitch channel starting tomorrow at 12pm CT.
