Controversy Surrounding FaZe Clan vs. Rise Match

VALORANT action on Oct. 27 will begin with the FaZe Clan vs. Rise match, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 13. However, controversy involving COVID tests and playing conditions led to a postponement.

Both teams had players test positive after the initial rapid COVID-19 tests. Despite subsequent negative tests, these players were unable to rejoin their teammates on stage. Rise considered competing with one member competing from a hotel room, while FaZe played from their Los Angeles-based facility. Rise refused to proceed under these circumstances, resulting in the postponement of the game, the match day, and eventually the entire event.

Upcoming Matches

Following the FaZe vs. Rise match on Oct. 27, Cloud9 Blue will face off against Version1. The winners of both series will then compete for a spot in the winners bracket finals against 100T.

All eight teams are competing for the single North American spot at Champions. They will join Sentinels and Team Envy in the final VCT event of the year. The NA LCQ grand finals will take place on Sunday, Oct. 31, and will be a best-of-five matchup.
