Main event of VALORANT Champions Tour NA Challengers 2 postponed due to winter storms

Riot Games Postpones Next VALORANT Champions Tour Event Due to Winter Storms

Riot Games has announced that the start date of the next North American VALORANT Champions Tour event will be delayed due to severe winter storms affecting many parts of the United States. The main event of the second Challengers event for NA, originally scheduled to begin on Thursday, Feb. 18, will now start on Saturday, Feb. 20. This decision is in response to weather concerns and potential power outages being experienced by the players.

Weather Concerns Lead to Schedule Change

The decision to postpone the event was made to ensure the safety and well-being of the players. The ongoing winter storms across America, which have caused power outages and record-breaking low temperatures, are particularly affecting states like Texas and Oklahoma. These states are ill-prepared for such extreme winter conditions, with millions of people currently without power and snowed in.

Challengers 2 Main Event Details

Assuming that all players have the necessary warmth and power to compete, the Challengers 2 main event will commence with exciting matchups. Sentinels will face off against FaZe Clan, while XSET takes on Team Envy in the opening round at 2pm CT. Following that, Immortals will play against Gen.G, and Luminosity will challenge 100 Thieves at 4:30pm CT.

A Hope for Uninterrupted Competition

Despite the challenges posed by the winter storms, it is hoped that all teams will be able to compete at the highest level without any interruptions caused by Mother Nature.
