M3C Secures Top Spot at LCQ EMEA Grand Final, Sending Team Liquid to Lower Bracket Final

M3 Champions Claim First Spot in Last Chance Qualifier of Europe

M3 Champions secured the top spot in the Last Chance Qualifier of Europe after an intense series against Team Liquid. Despite not having an organization, M3 Champions fought tooth and nail, taking the match to the third map and overtime.

The Battle on Breeze

The match started on the map Breeze, chosen by M3 Champions. Starting on the attacker’s side, M3 Champions only won the first pistol round before Team Liquid dominated the map. Team Liquid’s synergy and communication gave them a significant advantage, winning round after round. Despite M3 Champions showing coordination and confidence on their map of choice, Team Liquid maintained control and closed the game at 13-8, with an ace from Nivera.

A Stunned TL on Bind

Team Liquid surprised VALORANT fans by choosing to play on Bind, a map that is not one of their usual comfort picks. Starting again on the attacker’s side, M3 Champions faced an early lead by Team Liquid in the first few rounds. However, M3 Champions fought back with relentless attacks and proactive plays, ending the first half with a two-round advantage over Team Liquid. Despite Team Liquid’s coordination and peeks to close the gap between the teams, M3 Champions secured victory by capitalizing on their opponents’ individual mistakes, becoming the first team to defeat Team Liquid in the tournament.

An Intense Showdown on Icebox

The third map, Icebox, elevated the series to another level. Starting once again on the attacker’s side, Team Liquid won the first pistol round. Unlike the previous games, both teams engaged in a back-and-forth exchange of rounds. However, once M3 Champions found their rhythm and established a strong defense, they widened the gap between them and Team Liquid, reaching matchpoint at 12-6.

Despite Team Liquid’s clutch moments and incredible performances, including a mind-blowing pistol ace from Nivera, they tied the score with M3 Champions at 12-12, forcing the game into overtime.

The Epic Conclusion

The next ten rounds showcased the mental strength and technical talent of each player. Ultimately, M3 Champions remained composed and took advantage of Team Liquid’s small mistakes, securing victory with 18 rounds to 16. With this win, M3 Champions claimed the first spot in the Last Chance Qualifier Grand Final.

It is still possible for Team Liquid to have a rematch with M3 Champions. They have one more chance to reach the Grand Final by winning their match against the winner of G2 Esports and OG London United in the Lower Bracket Final.
