Ludwig’s VALORANT Team’s Disappointing Challengers Debut Fuels Instant Memes

Ludwig’s VALORANT Team Faces Unexpected Defeat in North American Challengers

Popular streamer Ludwig and his co-founder MoistCr1TiKaL had a challenging start in the North American Challengers for their VALORANT team.

The duo, who signed the free-agent team BreakThru under Moist Esports, invested $500,000 in acquiring the roster. BreakThru was considered an underdog team in Challengers but had the potential to compete against some of the best.

Now known as Moist Moguls, the team suffered a surprising 2-0 defeat against last-place Turtle Troop. Moist Moguls currently sits just outside the top four in Group A with a 1-2 record, tied with Turtle Troop at the bottom.

The match was closely contested, but Moist Moguls lost their momentum in the second map after a narrow defeat on Fracture. Ludwig livestreamed the match on YouTube to thousands of viewers, with his close friend and fellow streamer Tarik finding humor in Ludwig’s attempts to motivate his team.

On February 26, Ludwig announced the signing of BreakThru to the organization, revealing that he had spent $500,000 of the organization’s funds on a VALORANT team. Although the investment hasn’t paid off yet, there are still plenty of matches remaining before the Mid-Season Invitational.

The top four teams from Groups A and B will qualify for the MSI, with circuit points and cash prizes up for grabs.
