LOUD Player Tests Positive for COVID-19 at VCT Masters Reyjkavik

Riot Games has confirmed that one of LOUD’s players, currently competing at VCT Masters Reyjkavik, has tested positive for COVID-19. The player’s identity has not been disclosed by Riot. The positive result came after a mandatory test on April 9. If the player is well enough, they will be allowed to participate from a quarantine facility.

Changes to the Schedule

The positive COVID-19 result has led to potential changes in the schedule for upcoming matches.

LOUD’s Bye to the Playoffs

Due to LOUD winning Brazil Challengers in March, the team has secured a direct bye to the playoffs of VCT Masters Reyjkavik. This gives the infected player some time to recover from COVID-19. The group stage will conclude on April 13, followed by the playoffs.

No Prior Positive Results

This is the first positive COVID-19 result during VCT Masters Reyjkavik. However, other teams experienced issues prior to the tournament. Fnatic’s Derke initially tested positive but later tested negative and was allowed to participate in the event.
