LOUD clinches first place in 2022 VCT Masters Reykjavík grand finals after defeating OpTic in thrilling 3-game series

LOUD secures spot in VALORANT VCT Masters Reykjavík grand finals

Brazilian team LOUD has become the first VALORANT team to secure a spot in the 2022 VCT Masters Reykjavík grand finals after defeating OpTic Gaming. LOUD earned their place by winning the LATAM/BR playoffs and have remained undefeated in Iceland so far.

In the playoffs, OpTic Gaming fought their way through the group stage to secure their spot in the playoffs. They defeated The Guard, another North American team, but were unable to defeat LOUD in the upper final.

On the first map, Fracture, OpTic dominated LOUD on offense, but LOUD came back strong on their map pick, Ascent. They tied the game with a one-vs-three clutch and ultimately won the series, taking it to game three. In the final map, Icebox, LOUD continued their dominance and secured their spot in the grand finals.

OpTic Gaming still has a chance to make it to the grand finals by defeating either ZETA Division or Paper REX in the lower final. The grand finals will take place on Sunday, April 24 at 12pm CT.
