KSCERATO Hopes CS:GO 2 Takes Inspiration from VALORANT

FURIA’s KSCERATO Reveals What He Wants in CS:GO 2

In a recent interview, FURIA’s CS:GO rifler KSCERATO, known as Brazil’s best player, shared his wishlist for the upcoming Source 2 engine release by Valve in Counter-Strike.

“I’d love to see more weapons added to the game, along with a matchmaking system similar to VALORANT,” KSCERATO stated in his interview with .

While the community often asks for new weapons to freshen up the meta, it’s unlikely that Valve will introduce many new weapons to CS:GO 2, considering past franchise history.

Most weapons currently in CS:GO are inherited from Counter-Strike 1.6. Only a few additions, like the Zeus x27 taser, the Negev light machine-gun, and the Mag7 shotgun, have been made.

In terms of matchmaking, CS:GO’s system differs greatly from Riot Games’ approach in VALORANT. VALORANT offers a more comprehensive matchmaking experience with the Ranked Rating system, anti-cheat measures, and 128-tick servers. In contrast, many CS:GO players seeking a competitive environment or aspiring to go pro opt for third-party platforms like FACEIT or ESEA, due to the official matchmaking’s limitations such as 64-tick servers, cheater prevalence, and uncertainty in rank progress.

The level of impact the Source 2 update will have on CS:GO immediately remains uncertain. However, the community is hopeful as Valve is reportedly releasing Source 2 this month, according to journalist Richard Lewis, and recent leaks indicate that the release is imminent.
