Klaus expresses confidence in KRÜ’s ability to recreate their incredible VALORANT Champions run

KRÜ Esports Determined to Bounce Back in VALORANT Champions

KRÜ Esports, a rising force in the VALORANT competitive scene, aims to prove themselves in this year’s Champions battle. Despite a loss in their opening match against FunPlus Phoenix, the team remains confident in their abilities to replicate their breakout performance in the previous year's VCT Champions.

The squad acknowledges their stumble but urges VALORANT fans not to count them out just yet. They have faith in their ability to bring the same intensity and firepower they showcased in the previous event. For KRÜ, this is just another day in the office.

In an interview with Pedro Romero from BLIX.GG, KRÜ’s commander Nicolas ‘Klaus’ Ferrari discussed their recent performance and admitted that their mentality hindered their success against FPX. However, he emphasized that the squad remains as strong as before, if not stronger.

Klaus shared, “For some moments, we obviously felt the pressure and we couldn’t close it out, so we’re going to learn from our mistakes. There’s a lot to play in Champions, and I’m sure we’re going to make it to the playoffs and replicate what we did last year.”

Klaus highlighted the positive impact of their coach, Leandro ‘Leazo’ Liset, on the team’s mentality and gameplay. The addition of Coach Leazo has reinvigorated the squad and instilled confidence in their performance, especially after their disappointing result in Iceland.

In their previous encounter with FPX, KRÜ put up a strong fight in the first map but fell short (14-12). The second map saw FPX’s dominance as they shut down KRÜ with a 13-10 victory.

KRÜ has an impressive track record, having participated in every international event in VCT history. In the VALORANT Champions 2021, the predominantly Chilean squad made history with a top-four finish. However, their journey was halted by Gambit Esports, ultimately losing to Acend in the finals.

Despite their strong event history, the 2022 VCT season has not been kind to KRÜ. Lackluster performances in Masters Reykjavik and Copenhagen have put their playoffs chances at stake.

Their recent loss to FPX has fueled their determination to bounce back. KRÜ is focused on their upcoming rematch against FPX, seeking redemption after their surprise defeat to XSET.
