Key Warning Signs in VALORANT Agent Selection That Strongly Support Dodging the Queue

When Playing VALORANT, Why You Should Sometimes Dodge in Agent Selection

Occasionally, it’s necessary to dodge in VALORANT when you know your teammates will make the game difficult. Here are some warning signs to watch out for:

Dodging in agent selection can be a necessity, especially when you know your teammates are going to make your life a living hell. I don’t leave often, but when I do, it’s for a good reason (I promise).

While you may receive a temporary matchmaking ban in VALORANT, it’s worth the time and effort saved by avoiding toxic teammates. It’s also a good idea to wait a bit before queuing again, just in case you encounter the same players.

1) Avoid Sexism or Racism

You may encounter this type of behavior multiple times. If verbal abuse like sexism or racism starts during agent select, it’s likely to continue throughout the match.

It’s crucial to avoid playing with these kinds of players, even if it means receiving a 30-minute ban. Muting can help, but if they don’t care about being banned for their terrible comments, they probably won’t care about winning either.

2) Address Immediate Arguing

If your teammates are already arguing in the pregame lobby, it’s going to be a bad experience. These players will likely continue to complain during the match, and it’s not worth the hassle.

There will be comments about playstyle, rotations, kills, and other criticisms that you don’t need to hear.

Leave and wait for a better match next time. It’s not worth wasting your gaming time.

3) Incompatible Team Composition

While wins may come easier with a stack of duelists, as you climb the ranks, the chances of winning decrease. When you see teammates picking duelists right away, be cautious.

Waiting for your VALORANT teammates to pick their agents is a good tactic to avoid this situation. However, if you’ve been forced to play agents you don’t like in multiple games, you’re likely tired of it.

Unfortunately, you can’t control your teammates’ decisions. But suggesting team compositions as you enter a match can help. You can even offer to play a smoke agent right away to set the pregame lobby in the right mindset.

Remember to report toxic players so that others don’t have to experience it.
