KennyS Dominates with 40 Kills in Pro VALORANT Debut at BLAST Spike Nations

Kenny “kennyS” Schrub Dominates in First Professional VALORANT Match

Kenny “kennyS” Schrub, one of the most renowned players in CS:GO, made a spectacular debut in his first official VALORANT match. Playing for Team France in the BLAST Spike Nations tournament, kennyS showcased his skills by notching an incredible 40 kills on the character Jett in an Icebox map. His outstanding performance in overtime helped Team France secure victory against Team Portugal.

Supported by a talented lineup of French VALORANT players like Sliicyy and Ninou, as well as his former Counter-Strike teammate NBK, kennyS delivered a remarkable performance in his pro VALORANT debut. Despite taking some time to adjust to the primary VALORANT sniper rifle, kennyS, known as one of the best CS:GO AWPers of all time, had a significant impact on the game.

Initially, kennyS had a relatively quiet first half using the Operator, finding more success with the Phantom. With 12 kills in the first half, Team France trailed 7-5. However, kennyS made a significant impact in the defensive second half, securing a terrific Sheriff 3K and assisting NBK in a two-vs-two clutch during the pistol round. He showcased exceptional aggression on defense, catching Portugal off guard multiple times and shutting down their pushes with his Op.

In overtime, kennyS, as expected, chose the glass cannon buy, opting for an Operator without armor. He continued to deliver crucial kills during the overtime rounds, ultimately contributing to Team France’s 15-13 victory with a remarkable total of 40 kills.

Throughout his career in CS:GO from 2013 to 2017, kennyS was considered one of the world’s best players and the definitive AWPer. His sniper skills played a vital role in the success of French rosters in Envy and G2 Esports. However, in late 2020, kennyS found himself benched after G2 Esports underwent significant roster changes, including the addition of superstar NiKo.

Now, over six months since his departure from competitive CS:GO, kennyS expressed in an interview with Dexerto that while it would be sad to leave the game he loves behind, he would find a place for himself elsewhere if there is no space for him in CS.

For fans of VALORANT, having a player of kennyS’s caliber join the pro scene is undoubtedly exciting, and his impressive performance in his first official match leaves them wanting more.
