Jinggg pulls off incredible Sage wall boost against Team Liquid on Pearl

Paper Rex Introduces New Defensive Strat at VALORANT Champions Istanbul

During an intense match against Team Liquid at VALORANT Champions Istanbul, Paper Rex showcased a unique defensive strategy on the map Pearl.

In their elimination match, Paper Rex utilized a Sage wall to boost Jing Jie “Jinggg” Wang onto the boxes in B Link. This strategic wall provided the defensive team with a vantage point to observe B Ramp and B Main through a crack in the buildings. While the attacking team could spot the boosted player from B Link, the element of surprise caught them off guard.

Team Liquid’s Dom “soulcas” Sulcas spotted Jingg in this position but couldn’t inflict any damage due to the limited space between the buildings. As a result, soulcas met his demise, and the remaining Liquid members hesitated in peeking to avoid falling victim to Jinggg’s sneaky positioning.

To execute this boost, Paper Rex must have a Sage and a Raze player. The team should also be playing on defense to catch the attacking team off guard as they push through B Main. At the beginning of the round, the Raze player will place their satchel next to the boxes and jump as the satchel detonates, propelling themselves higher than a normal jump. While the Raze is airborne, the Sage will position the wall on top of the boxes. Once the wall solidifies, the Raze will land on it, granting them a clear view of the B Main push.
