Jawgemo’s Dominant EG Win over LOUD at VCT Masters Tokyo Shatters the Myth of Patience

Evil Geniuses Sweep LOUD to Advance in VCT Masters Tokyo Playoffs

Evil Geniuses faced their biggest challenge yet in the form of Brazilian superteam LOUD before VCT Masters Tokyo. However, they managed to turn things around and dominate LOUD in a 2-0 sweep during the playoffs. This victory secured Evil Geniuses as the first seed from the Americas region to advance in the tournament.

Impressive Set Plays from Evil Geniuses

Similar to their surprising performance in the group stage, Evil Geniuses executed set plays flawlessly against LOUD. Alexander “jawgemo” Mor stood out as the leader, showcasing exceptional skills on Raze and Omen. This win against LOUD was one of Evil Geniuses’ most convincing victories in the tournament.

The series was defined by two memorable jawgemo moments. The first occurred at the beginning of the series on Fracture, where Evil Geniuses coordinated a team play that showcased their skills, not just in Tokyo, but throughout the entire year.

In round three, Evil Geniuses utilized the entire team’s utility to clear out the tower on the B site. LOUD’s Matias “Saadhak” Delipetro was quickly overwhelmed by the coordinated effort, resulting in a kill for Evil Geniuses.

However, the standout moment came on Ascent when LOUD made a critical mistake. Arthur “tuyz” Vieira had a chance to eliminate jawgemo, but he hesitated, hoping to catch other members of Evil Geniuses off-guard. Unfortunately for LOUD, jawgemo checked behind him and secured an easy kill.

While patience can be rewarding, being too patient can lead to missed opportunities, as demonstrated by LOUD’s mistake. Jawgemo ended the series with an impressive 43 kills, outperforming every other player on both teams. Overall, every player on Evil Geniuses played exceptionally well, with their familiarity with regional rivals giving them an edge over LOUD.

In a post-match interview, Ethan “Ethan” Arnold commented on facing teams like LOUD. He acknowledged their familiarity with each other’s strategies but expressed confidence in Evil Geniuses’ ability to compete with top teams. He hoped to maintain their unbeaten streak throughout the tournament.

With this victory, Evil Geniuses advances in the upper bracket of the playoffs, with their next match scheduled for June 19. LOUD, on the other hand, faces their first lower bracket match on June 18.
