Japanese VALORANT Tier-2 Champions Earn VCT Opportunity with Invite to Major Offseason Tournament

SCARZ Invited to Red Bull Home Ground Event

The reigning VALORANT Challengers Japan champions, SCARZ, have received a direct invite to compete at the prestigious Red Bull Home Ground event, Red Bull Gaming announced today. This event is part of the VCT offseason and will feature some of the world’s best teams. With the potential for roster changes in the Japanese VCT, SCARZ players have a chance to solidify their tier one status after narrowly missing out on Ascension.

SCARZ secured their spot in the Ascension tournament for VCT Pacific after finishing first in the second split of Challengers Japan. Unfortunately, they fell short in the grand final, losing to BLEED Esports, the winners of Challengers Malaysia/Singapore. However, the invite to Red Bull Home Ground presents an opportunity for SCARZ players to showcase their skills against top international rosters like Cloud9, 100 Thieves, ZETA DIVISION, and others to be announced.

Japanese Organizations Looking to Make Roster Changes

The two Japanese organizations, ZETA DIVISION and DetonatioN FocusMe, represented in the VCT Pacific league, are both planning to make roster moves ahead of the 2024 season following disappointing results in 2023. ZETA DIVISION had an average regular season but made a strong comeback in the LCQ. However, they were ultimately eliminated from Champions 2023 after losses to Fnatic and NRG.

DetonatioN FocusMe had an even worse season, finishing without a single series victory across all three international leagues. Both ZETA DIVISION and DetonatioN FocusMe have recently opened tryouts, indicating that they may debut with new teams next year.

Opportunity for SCARZ Players to Shine

Currently, the SCARZ roster is experiencing some changes, with only four active members. One of the two Japanese players, Allen, has been moved to the inactive roster and is now a free agent. Despite this, a strong performance from the remaining players could attract the attention of ZETA DIVISION, DetonatioN FocusMe, or any other team in need of skilled players.
