Jamppi Firmly Declares He Won’t Return to CS:GO

Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen Commits to VALORANT

Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen has made a firm decision to focus on VALORANT, as confirmed during a recent stream. The Finnish sniper won’t be returning to Counter-Strike.

“Don’t be mad guys, but I’m going to stick to VALORANT,” said Jamppi. “So I’m not going back to CS. That’s for sure now. I hope there will not be too many people upset about it, but the decision was extremely hard to make.”

Jamppi had been unable to participate in Valve-sponsored events due to a VAC ban dating back to 2013. This led him to step down from ENCE and pursue a career in VALORANT in January 2021.

In April, Valve updated its eligibility guidelines, allowing players with a VAC ban of more than five years to compete again in CS:GO. However, despite this change, Jamppi remains committed to VALORANT. He recently qualified for VCT Masters Reykjavík after defeating Fnatic in the finals of VCT EMEA Stage Two Challengers.

There was speculation that Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom, the brother of Jamppi’s teammate ScreaM, was close to signing with Team Liquid. This led to suggestions that a player, possibly Jamppi, would be stepping down soon. However, it now appears that Jamppi will continue to represent Liquid at VCT Masters Reykjavík on May 24.
