Issue with target discovered by VALORANT player in Range

The Range in VALORANT: A Training Ground for Skill Growth

VALORANT’s Range is the perfect place for players to prepare for games, improve their post-plant setups, and learn site attacks. Every part of the Range offers valuable opportunities for skill development, including the large target located outside of the warm-up area on the map.

When players want to warm up their aim by shooting at bots, they can find a large target with a bot standing next to it on the right side of the area. By shooting at the target or the bot, players can see the real-time trajectory of their bullets. They also have the option to adjust the distance of the target from themselves, allowing them to train for various in-game scenarios.

However, a VALORANT player noticed that the target in the Range with the training dummy is positioned lower than where enemies stand on the map.

According to the player, fozzy143, “I feel like the center of the target board, along w/ the bot dude should be higher to match regular head-height crosshair placement. As it stands, at its standard base set distance, you’re aiming below your regular crosshair placement to be centered on the board & the bots head.”

To compare the heights, the player placed another bot in the range at the typical height to observe the differences. The slightly lower position of the target encourages players to aim below the headshot range. This can affect a player’s performance when trying to increase their headshot accuracy and practice proper positioning at different distances.

To address this issue, Riot would need to adjust the target’s height slightly to match that of in-game enemies.
