Investigation Concludes into Manager Accused of Stealing VALORANT Fans’ Registration Fees

Manager at Knights Arena Accused of Stealing Tournament Fees

There has been a recent controversy at Knights Arena after one of their managers allegedly embezzled players’ registration fees for their tournaments. The issue was brought to light on September 21 by a former participant in one of their events.

After conducting a two-week investigation, Knights Arena has taken swift action by terminating the responsible employee, as announced by the organizer today.

Immediate Response and Collaboration

Knights Arena labeled the incident as “significant financial fraud” in their official statement, emphasizing the harm caused to their ecosystem by the manager’s actions.

It was essential for Knights Arena to act decisively in this situation. As a reputable tournament organizer and a direct representative of Riot Games for VALORANT tier-two tournaments, they have a responsibility to maintain trust with their players and partners.

The employee in question, known as “Jasper (sFX)” in Knights Arena’s statement, allegedly diverted players’ registration fees to an external bank account. The total sum redirected was substantial, reaching thousands of dollars.

Quick Measures and Future Precautions

Moving forward, Knights Arena made it clear that all payments must be made through their official channels, which can be accessed from their website. Additionally, they are collaborating with the Americas VALORANT Player’s Association (AVPA) to document and rectify any harm inflicted on participants. Knights Arena has also reported the situation to local authorities and pledged to utilize legal means to investigate and prosecute the former employee.

A Common Issue in Esports

Unfortunately, scamming incidents like this occur in the tier-two esports scene. Many players, coaches, organizers, and developers have had to fight to receive their payments or have gone unpaid. While Knights Arena’s case is alarming, it is not an isolated incident, highlighting the need for stronger measures against such misconduct in the industry.
