Introducing the Latest Update: VALORANT Patch 7.07 Patch Notes

VALORANT is getting an update soon, Patch 7.07, which will bring important bug fixes and a surprising change to the game’s competitive matchmaking rules.

The patch will be released on Oct. 3 and will include some significant bug fixes that will change the way we play with certain agents. Additionally, the ranked restriction that was added in Patch 7.06 has been removed based on feedback from the community. Riot Games has promised to address the issues of smurfing and botting with more reliable solutions in the future.

Let’s take a detailed look at the features of Patch 7.07:

No more ranked restrictions in five-stack parties

In Patch 7.06, Riot introduced a ranked restriction where Ascendant players were not allowed to queue with players ranked Gold or below for competitive games. This was done to address the problems of botting and smurfing in VALORANT.

However, the community expressed displeasure with this change as it prevented players from playing with their friends. In response to this feedback, Riot decided to reverse the change.

“In the end, we realized that your ability to have flexibility with your 5 stack was more important than the very small number of people who abuse this exploit,” Riot said. They have promised to find an appropriate long-term solution to combat these issues in the future.

Haven’s destructible doors will now sport better VFX

Patch 7.07 brings a visual change to the destructible doors in Haven’s Mid Garage area. The doors will now be easier to see through as they fall away, making it easier for players to know where to shoot for a wall-bang kill.

Performance updates

VALORANT has been optimized for systems with discrete Intel GPUs. Riot has enabled multithreaded rendering for such builds and the game will now require fewer CPU cores to run.

All bug fixes included in VALORANT Patch 7.07

Patch 7.07 also includes several bug fixes for agents, the game’s sound system, and the Premier mode.

Cypher

  • Neural Theft (X) now completes even if Cypher dies after casting.
  • Fixed an issue where you could remain blinded if spectating a flash through Cypher’s Spycam (E) as the round ended.

Gekko

  • Dizzy’s (E) enemy detection range is now correctly reduced while inside Viper’s Pit (X) ability.

General bug fixes

Riot has fixed a bug that allowed the game to output surround sound under certain conditions, which was not tested or supported. VALORANT only supports mono and stereo sound, so this bug has been addressed. The game also supports an HRTF setting for headphone sound output, but Riot does not recommend combining it with other surround sound virtualization software for double processing.

Premier mode bug fixes

The Premier mode has also received three crucial UI bug fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the Attacker team took priority over the Defender team in the Overtime vote.
  • Fixed a bug where a second timer bar would appear after the “Choose Side” vote had already ended.
  • Fixed a bug where certain scenarios would cause subsequent Overtime Priority votes to occur in the following round.
