When you install or return to VALORANT after a break, you may encounter the “process already running” error. This issue seems to be linked to League of Legends and other Riot games. The combination of these clients can trigger this frustrating error code. Fortunately, there’s a simple fix for it.
To solve this problem, the easiest and quickest solution is to delete the c:/Riot Games/Riot Client/vcruntime140.dll folder. You can find this folder in the Riot Games directory on your (C:) drive.
In the Riot Games folder, locate the Riot Client option. Then, go to the second-to-last file called vcruntime140.dll. Right-click on it and choose the option to delete it.
After deleting the file, reinstall VALORANT, launch the client, and you should be able to play without any issues.
VALORANT is a tactical shooter game that was released in 2020. Since its launch, numerous updates have been made to the game, including new agents, maps, game modes, and more.
