How to keep your account level hidden in VALORANT

How to Hide Your Account Level in VALORANT

In VALORANT, you can keep your account level hidden from other players by toggling a single button. This can be advantageous as it may trick your opponents into thinking you’re new to the game. When you start performing well, they may accuse you of cheating or smurfing, leading to a potential easy win for you.

Not only does hiding your account level confuse opponents, but it also helps you avoid toxic comments from teammates who might criticize your level despite your experience.

To hide your account level in VALORANT, follow these steps:

1. Launch VALORANT.
2. Go to the “Collection” tab at the top of the screen.
3. Click on “Player Cards” on the left side of the screen.
4. Choose “Level Borders.”
5. Uncheck the box next to “Show my account level on my player card,” located underneath your player card.

Once you’ve completed these steps, only your friends will be able to see your account level on your player card.

The option to hide your account level in VALORANT was introduced in October 2021 due to player requests, available after patch 3.08.

What is an Account Level in VALORANT?

According to Riot, an account level in VALORANT is a way for players to track and visualize the time they’ve spent in the game. It can indicate your experience level to others and serve as a personal reminder of your progress.

You can earn Account Points (AP) to level up your account by playing matches. The amount of AP you gain depends on the match duration and results. You’ll also receive bonus AP for your first win of the day. However, AP only contributes to your account level and not your battle pass or agent contract XP.

Every time you increase your account level by 20, you’ll receive a new border that wraps around your account level. By default, your account level is displayed on your Player Card, but you have the option to hide it if desired.

If other players are being mean to you for hiding your account level, it’s best to mute them so they don’t negatively impact your VALORANT experience.
