How to Avoid a Match in VALORANT

How to Avoid Penalties for Quitting Matches in VALORANT?

If you consistently leave or dodge matches in VALORANT, you may face penalties from the game’s system. While it can be frustrating for other players in your lobby, there are times when dodging is necessary.

VALORANT has a punishment system in place to discourage such behavior. The severity of the punishment depends on the case, with cheating resulting in the longest and quickest ban.

It’s important to note that players can also be punished for friendly fire, so be careful not to harm your teammates with your abilities.

Punishments for Dodging in VALORANT

VALORANT imposes several punishments for dodging matches. Here’s a list of the potential penalties that Riot can enforce:

  • Warnings: This acts as the first warning for triggering the Queue Dodging/AFK system.
  • XP Denial: Players will be unable to earn XP for one match.
  • Rank Rating Reduction: Players can lose up to 12 RR points, potentially dropping below the -30 RR loss limit.
  • Queue Restriction Timer: This forces players to wait between three minutes to four hours before queuing again for non-custom games.
  • Ranked Restriction Timer: This penalty prevents players from searching in the Competitive queue for at least seven days, with a possible extension to 14 days for severe cases.
  • VALORANT Game Ban: Players who receive this ban will be punished with a minimum of seven days, which can even become permanent.

The severity of the penalties will increase based on the case. It is possible to receive multiple penalties without getting a game ban, but it’s advisable not to push your luck.
