Half of the VCT LOCK//IN teams embark on challenging travel day

Around 16 VALORANT Teams Begin Journey to Brazil for International Event

Approximately 16 VALORANT teams from around the world are traveling to São Paulo, Brazil for their first international event of the year.

Half of the competing teams will arrive in São Paulo over the next few days, and the tournament is scheduled to commence on Feb. 13. The Alpha bracket teams, including NRG, Cloud9, Gen.G, DRX, and more, will compete next week.

FunPlus Phoenix, one of the Chinese teams selected by Riot Games, is flying out from Shanghai with a customized boarding pass for Brazil. However, it is unlikely that the oversized pass will be permitted through customs.

Some European teams have a long flight ahead, typically taking around 13 hours for a non-stop journey to Brazil. North American teams, on the other hand, usually endure an eight to nine-hour flight.

For instance, Giants will face a grueling 13-hour flight as they prepare for their opening match against DetonatioN FocusMe on Feb. 13.

The Alpha bracket of VCT LOCK//IN consists of 16 teams and showcases exciting opening matchups. Brazilian Champions LOUD will go head-to-head with a new and improved Gen.G lineup, while Cloud9 will compete against Paper Rex.

Fans of Sentinels and Fnatic will have to wait until Feb. 24 for their teams to participate in the Omega bracket. This bracket, featuring the other half of the competing teams, will kick off on Feb. 22 with a match between Team Secret and Team Liquid.
