Guild and FPX progress to VCT EMEA Stage 2 Challengers Final

Guild Esports and FunPlus Phoenix Advance to VCT EU Challengers Finals

After an exciting day of semifinal matches in the VCT EU Challengers One main event, two teams have secured their spots in the grand finals. Guild Esports and FunPlus Phoenix emerged victorious, earning two of the four EU tickets to the EMEA Stage Two Challengers Finals.

Guild Esports’ Victory Over Ninjas in Pyjamas

Guild Esports faced off against Ninjas in Pyjamas in the opening series. Although Guild lost their pick of Haven in the first map, they managed to turn things around on their opponent’s preferred map, Bind. The match came down to the final map, Split, where Guild secured four consecutive rounds to win the game 13-10 and complete the reverse sweep.

FunPlus Phoenix Dominate Against Opportunists

The second match featured FunPlus Phoenix against Opportunists. Once again, the French side took the lead by winning FPX’s pick of Haven. However, FPX’s Raze main Zyppaan stepped up on Split to even the series. The match then went to the third map, Bind, where FPX dominated Opportunists with a resounding 13-4 victory.

Challengers Finals and the Road to Masters Reykjavík

In the Challengers Final stage, the European teams will compete against teams from Turkey and the CIS region. Two more European teams will qualify through Challengers Two, joining three Turkish teams and one from the CIS region in the eight-team final. The top two teams from the Challengers Final will then move on to Masters Reykjavík in Iceland.
