Guide: Mastering Lotus in VALORANT – Layout, callouts, tips, and tricks

If you want to excel in VALORANT and stay in the game, it’s important to learn the new Lotus map. This unique map features three different sites to plant the spike and rotating doors that can be activated with buttons. Additionally, there is a small breakable door that connects A Main and A Link.

Before Lotus is fully integrated into the main queues, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the layout and callouts. By doing so, you can gain an early advantage and improve your gameplay.

  • The breakable door between A Link and A Main is known as “Vent” or “Link Door”.

Control of A Main is crucial for both attackers and defenders on the A site. Attackers should focus on gaining control of A Main as it provides the most direct path to the site. Smoking off A Stairs is essential to secure A Main control.

On defense, there are different strategies you can employ. Utilize utility at A Lobby and A Root to cover the Rubble spot. Leave a teammate to defend A Tree and catch attackers off guard. A Drop can also be used for silent rotations from A Top.

When attacking B, a double-pronged attack via B Pillar and C Mound is effective. This allows you to catch off aggressive C site defenders or pivot the B attackers into C. Smoke off the A Link hallway and upper B area to secure a successful execute.

While defending B, aggressive utility is key. An agent with high mobility can hide behind the box in B Main and retreat to the site if needed. Defending from A Link provides a safe angle as attackers would need to break the door to reach you.

When attacking C, slowly gain control of the C Mound area and use smokes and flashes to push into the site. Planting closest to C Mound provides the best post-plant advantage. Keep in mind that the upper portion of the site has a short wall that doesn’t fully cover a defuse.

For defending C, prioritize control of C Mound. Post-plants are strong for attackers on C, so preventing a free plant is crucial. Utilize different hiding spots on the site to deny the plant rather than going for a retake.
