Giants’ VALORANT Captain Ignites NA vs. EU Rivalry: Prioritizing Money or Achievements?

Giants' Rhyme Shares Insight on North America vs Europe in VALORANT

In a recent press conference, Giants' Emir “rhyme” Muminovic shared some provocative views about the rivalry between North America and Europe in the competitive VALORANT scene. This ongoing rivalry has captivated the esports community for years, and now it has extended to the world of VALORANT.

Rhyme was asked about the possibility of players from the Americas and Pacific Leagues transitioning to the EMEA region. In response, the 24-year-old highlighted two key factors that influence a player's decision: money and achievements.

“It depends on what you prioritize: money or achievements. You have to make a choice,” said rhyme. “If you thrive on achievements, then Europe is the place to be. But if you prefer financial gains, I would advise you to stay in L.A. It simply makes more sense.”

According to rhyme, players in North America can earn up to five times more than their European counterparts. Furthermore, talented teams can be formed in the EMEA region with significantly less financial investment. Therefore, those chasing financial opportunities may choose to stay in the Americas League, while those seeking glory may embark on the long journey across the Atlantic.

Interestingly, Europe has emerged victorious in the last two major international tournaments, including the 2023 LOCK//IN and VCT Masters Tokyo. However, at the recent Masters event in June, two Americas teams outperformed most European teams, with the exception of Fnatic.

While Fnatic is a strong contender for VCT Champions later this year, the Americas region also boasts formidable teams such as NRG, Evil Geniuses, and LOUD. These teams will certainly pose a challenge for any squad at the tournament. In just a few weeks, we will witness whether rhyme's words will come back to haunt him and his region when the event begins in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 6.
