Ghost Gaming reportedly searching for new players to replace ryann on VALORANT roster

Ghost Gaming Looking to Replace In-Game Leader after VALORANT Disappointment

According to sources, Ghost Gaming has been practicing without Ryan “ryann” Welsh following their failure to qualify for the VALORANT Champions Tour North America Stage One: Challengers event.

Trialing Potential Replacements for Ryann

The team is currently trying out different in-game leaders to fill ryann’s spot. Corbin “C0M” Lee, Brenden “stellar” McGrath, and Christopher “Rebo” Heindel are all being considered as potential replacements, as per sources.

Ghost competed in both the first and second VCT NA Stage One: Challengers open qualifiers, which took place from late January to early February. They suffered two consecutive losses to Andbox and Cosmic Divide in the first qualifier, leading to their elimination.

However, they made a strong comeback in the second open qualifier, upsetting both FaZe and TSM. Despite their impressive performance in the upper bracket, they were defeated by Evil Geniuses in a close match, sending them to the lower bracket.

In the lower bracket, Ghost faced off against a Pioneers roster that had just won against Cosmic Divide. Unfortunately, Ghost was unable to overcome the Pioneers, losing the series 2-1 and ending their chances of qualifying for the VCT NA Stage One: Challengers group stage.

In the first and second open qualifiers, ryann had a 148.8 ACS and a 0.74 K/D, ranking second to last among all players (minimum 200 rounds), according to VLR.gg.

Moving forward, Ghost Gaming aims to improve their fragging abilities by bringing in a new in-game leader. They are expected to participate in various tournaments, including Knights and Nerd Street Gamers events, until the next open qualifiers in May.
