Gen.G secures final NA spot at VCT Masters 1 by eliminating NRG

Gen.G Secures Final Spot in VCT Masters in Victory over NRG Esports

Gen.G emerged victorious in a 2-0 defeat against NRG Esports in the lower bracket, claiming the final spot in the upcoming VCT Masters event.

Shawn O’Riley of Gen.G continues to impress with his exceptional performance since joining the team in October. He kicked off the series with an impressive 22 kills, going head-to-head with NRG’s Bradley “ANDROID” Fodor on Ascent. Gen.G’s strong defense led them to a 13-9 victory.

This led the series to Haven, NRG’s choice. Shawn once again had a strong performance, but this time his duelist partner Danny “huynh” Huynh stole the spotlight. Huynh secured 24 kills on Jett with only 13 deaths, resulting in an impressive average combat score of 300. NRG’s Jett main Ryan “shanks” Ngo had a tough series and couldn’t match Gen.G’s firepower.

With this win, the lineup for Masters is complete. Team Envy, Sentinels, Immortals, and XSET secured their spots from Challengers Two, while Luminosity, FaZe Clan, 100 Thieves, and Gen.G advanced from Challengers Three. The final stage of Challengers Three is yet to conclude, with the remaining four teams battling for seeding at Masters and a chance to win a $50k prize pool.

Luminosity will go head-to-head with FaZe in the Challengers Three upper bracket final, while Gen.G faces 100 Thieves in the lower bracket.
