Gen.G Acquires Prominent South Korean Roster, Led by Meteor, for VCT 2023

Gen.G Creates South Korean VALORANT Roster for VCT Pacific League 2023

Gen.G has formed a new VALORANT team consisting of South Korean players to compete in the VCT Pacific league in 2023. The organization has recruited former Northeption player Kim “Meteor” Tae-O, Lee “k1Ng” Seung-won, Kang “iNTRO” Seung-gyun, Yu “TS” Tae-seok, Yeom “eKo” Wang-ryong, and Kim “Secret” Ha-jin.

Previously, Gen.G had a North American VALORANT team but decided to shift its focus to the Asian scene after securing a partnership spot in the Pacific league. As part of the roster overhaul, the organization also hired former Northeption coach Lee “bail” Sung-jae and promoted Australian coach Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit to head coach position.

During the 2022 competitive season, Meteor showcased excellent performance with Jett while playing for Northeption. According to VLR.gg, he maintained an average of 272.9 ACS, 1.37 K/D, 174.2 ADR, and 0.96 kills per round over the past three months.

K1Ng, eKo, and TS were part of the On Sla2ers roster in 2022, while iNTRO gained experience with DWG KIA, ENTER FORCE.36, and REJECT before joining Gen.G. Secret is expected to be the sixth member of the team, having played the least in 2022.

Gen.G has high hopes for this South Korean lineup and aims to achieve what their previous North American teams couldn’t. The organization faced a challenging year in 2022 after failing to qualify for VCT 2022 North America Challengers One and Two, leading to their participation in minor events.

The participating teams in the VCT 2023 Pacific league include Gen.G, ZETA DIVISION, T1, DRX, Paper Rex, DetonatioN Gaming, Team Secret, Talon Esports, Rex Regum Qeon, and Global Esports.
