G2 Gozen’s rising star Mary enhances watch party experience at VCT Game Changers Championship in Bahrain.

Maryam “Mary” Maher Shines as G2 Gozen Dominates in Game Changers Championship

At just 16 years old, Maryam “Mary” Maher is proving herself on the world stage as a member of G2 Gozen, one of the top VALORANT women’s teams.

Despite her young age, Mary remains undaunted by the pressure of competing on the biggest Game Changers stage. In the opening round of the championship, G2 Gozen easily defeated X10 Sapphire.

In addition to the support G2 is receiving from the crowd in Berlin, Mary is also getting support from her home country of Bahrain. Over 2,600 miles away in the capital city of Manama, a few dedicated fans are hosting a “G2 Mary Watch Party.”

With a population of around 1.5 million people and a total area of only 290 square miles, Bahrain is one of the smallest countries in Asia. Only a few VALORANT players from Bahrain have competed in events, and none have reached the same level as Mary.

Mary joined G2 Gozen in May after an impressive performance in the EMEA women’s scene with the Chat Banned roster. Her first appearance for G2 Gozen was in the third series of the EMEA Game Changers tournament, where the team’s only loss came in a five-map grand final against Guild X.

While primarily an initiator player, Mary took on the role of Chamber against X10 Sapphire in the Game Changers Championship. She didn’t need to go above and beyond with outstanding performances from her teammates Michaela “mimi” Lintrup and Anastasiya “Glance” Anisimova, but she still finished with positive stats and the highest headshot percentage on the server.

Now, Mary and G2 Gozen face their biggest challenge yet as they go up against the NA giants, Cloud9 White.
