G2 Esports Star Allegedly Joining Team Heretics

Former G2 Esports Player Mixwell Joins Team Heretics

Reports suggest that Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas Colocho, a former player for G2 Esports, has reached an agreement with Team Heretics, one of the franchised EMEA teams. Mixwell, who gained fame in VALORANT after retiring from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, has agreed verbally to join the team, turning down offers from multiple international teams.

Mixwell’s Rise to Fame

During his time with G2 Esports, mixwell led his team to success in two international LAN tournaments. With a strong performance at Masters: Berlin in 2021 and Masters: Reykjavík the following year, G2 Esports achieved top four and top six placements, respectively. Known for his versatility with different agents, mixwell is particularly skilled with Jett, boasting an impressive overall KD of 1.28.

Team Heretics and Potential Reunion

Unlike G2 Esports, Team Heretics secured a spot in Riot Games’ VALORANT partnership league in 2023. While the organization has not released any current players and continues to participate in tournaments, it remains uncertain which players will be removed from the team. There is a possibility that mixwell will be reunited with his former teammate Cista “keloqz” Wassim, who left G2 Esports in February and signed with Team Heretics. However, as both players share the same role, they previously had to split their playtime on G2 Esports before keloqz’s departure.
