FPX Releases Entire VALORANT Roster

FunPlus Phoenix Releases European VALORANT Team

Chinese organization FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) has announced that it is parting ways with its European VALORANT team, according to a recent team reveal.

Although the future of FPX’s roster is uncertain, it has been reported that Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks will join NRG’s VALORANT team, along with the former OpTic core. On the other hand, FPX’s core roster has reportedly signed with Natus Vincere, the largest organization in the CIS region.

Meanwhile, NAVI is reportedly signing former Acend player Mehmet “cNed” Yağız İpek to complete their roster, as reported by . However, NAVI has not yet made an official announcement regarding their roster.

These roster changes were made following Riot Games’ announcement of partnered teams after Champions. While FPX was not selected to compete in the EMEA international league, NAVI was chosen to represent the CIS region. In the NA region, NRG was one of the teams selected to join the league.

Next year, the three international leagues will serve as the highest level of competition for VCT. Below the leagues, the Challengers circuit will act as the qualification method for teams to enter the leagues.

In July, FPX emerged victorious at VCT Stage Two Masters in Copenhagen, Denmark, defeating Paper Rex in the grand final to claim the championship title and gain momentum for Champions at the end of the year.

However, FPX finished fourth at Champions after losing to DRX in the semifinals of the lower bracket. OpTic Gaming then defeated DRX and went on to face LOUD in the grand finals, where the Brazilian team emerged as the winners.
