Former XSET Boss Acquires Stacked VALORANT Roster Under New Organization, Taking NA Challengers to New Heights

Former XSET Founder Creates New Organization for VCT 2023

According to multiple sources, Marco Mereu, one of the former XSET founders, has established a new organization to compete in the Challengers circuit for VCT 2023.

The organization has recruited several VALORANT players to represent them in the North American region next year. Alexander “Zander” Dituri, the former in-game leader of Version1, will join the team along with Mohamed “johnqt” Amine Ouarid, Gianfranco “koalanoob” Potestio, and Marc-Andre “NiSMO” Tayar, who previously played for Ghost Gaming.

Adding to the lineup is former NRG player Daniel “eeiu” Vucenovic, who looked for new opportunities after NRG’s acquisition of the previous OpTic Gaming core and former FPX player Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks.

The team is currently in search of a coach, although the identity of this individual remains unknown at present.

The squad is preparing to compete in the North American VCT’s Challengers circuit, which is scheduled to begin in December. However, the qualifiers for the tournament will take place before the main event.

The top Challengers teams from each region will compete against other teams from the Americas in the Ascension tournament, the highest level of competition for Challengers teams in the coming year. The winner of the Ascension tournament will earn a spot in the corresponding international league for the following year.

Next year’s Challengers circuit will feature skilled teams, including FaZe Clan and TSM, who are set to participate in the league despite failing to secure a partnership with Riot Games for the Americas international league.

Mereu’s previous organization, XSET, which he left on November 4th, also did not secure a partnership with Riot.
