Former rival chosen to replace aspas in LOUD VALORANT team

Brazilian Powerhouse LOUD Adds Former FURIA Player qck to Their VALORANT Roster

Brazilian VALORANT team LOUD has reportedly signed former FURIA player Gabriel “qck” Lima as their fifth player. qck will be stepping into the shoes of departed star Erick “aspas” Santos, as LOUD’s roster begins to settle after a busy off-season in the Americas.

According to an Oct. 7 report from Brazilian site The Enemy, LOUD has reached a verbal agreement with qck. While qck has mostly played Jett, his recent role on FURIA has been more flexible. He may have to return to his original position to fill the void left by one of the world’s best Jett players. If not, LOUD might rework their roster with players taking on new roles, and qck would once again adapt as needed.

This news comes shortly after The Enemy revealed that LOUD’s former head coach Daniel “fRoD” Montaner won’t be returning to the team in 2024. While there is a void at the coaching position, this announcement fills a spot in the team’s roster. As for qck, he brings a wealth of VALORANT experience, having competed for FURIA, one of LOUD’s close rivals, over the past two years.

In 2021, FURIA was a dominant force in South American VALORANT, but LOUD surpassed them in 2022 with impressive performances in the VCT and at Champions 2022 in Istanbul, Turkey.

LOUD continued their success in 2023 at LOCK//IN São Paulo, making it to the final but ultimately falling short against Fnatic. FURIA, on the other hand, struggled to match their success from 2021. In 2023, FURIA joined the VCT franchise and finished in fifth place.

In the off-season leading up to 2023, LOUD lost two of its championship players, Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi and Bryan “pANcada” Luna, who joined Sentinels. The team brought in Cauan “cauanzin” Pereira and Arthur “tuyz” Vieira, two promising players. Together, they proved that LOUD could remain competitive both regionally and internationally.

Now, with aspas gone and reportedly joining Leviatán, LOUD will need to integrate qck into their core roster. He will have time to adjust and perform at the level expected by LOUD, one of the top teams in the VCT Americas, starting in February 2024.
