Former C9 White Members Face Off in Potential Rivalry at NA VALORANT Challengers Qualifier
After a dynasty disbanded, former members have a chance to compete against each other in the closing match of the first day of the NA VALORANT Challengers open qualifier. This match has the potential to establish a bitter Game Changers rivalry, all in pursuit of securing a spot at Ascension.
The bracket for the single-elimination portion of the first NA VALORANT Challengers open qualifier has been released by Battlefy and Knights Arena. Two teams, each featuring two former Cloud9 White stars, are on a collision course in the final single-elimination round. This was first noticed by Reddit user detectiveluis.

Melanie “meL” Capone and Alexis Guarrasi are both competing on the “NeverDone” roster, alongside the rest of the players forming the 2023 Version1 roster. On the other side of their bracket is “riribunobsumi,” which consists of former C9 White teammates Bob Tran and Katja “katsumi” Pfahnl, along with the reported 2023 XSET Purple roster.
If both teams win their first two best-of-three series, they will face off in a crucial best-of-three match with a lot on the line. The winner will advance to the top 32 double-elimination portion of the bracket, where four NA Challengers League spots are up for grabs. The loser will be eliminated from this qualifier altogether and will have another chance in a second “last chance” qualifier next week, with only two Challengers League spots available.
The ex-C9 White players achieved great success together, dominating the NA Game Changers scene for two years. They won all six NA Game Changers tournaments between 2021 and 2022. However, they were shockingly eliminated by Shopify Rebellion at the Game Changers Championship 2022 and disbanded shortly after.
The opening set of matches for the first NA VALORANT Challengers open qualifier begins at 5pm CT today but will not be broadcasted.
