Just hours before their first VALORANT match at VCT LOCK//IN, a player on the European team Fnatic has been hit with a health issue.

Quarantine Facility with LAN Capabilities

Riot Games, the developer and tournament host of VALORANT, announced today that a member of Fnatic has tested positive for COVID-19. The player will compete from a quarantine facility that is equipped with LAN capabilities.

Match Proceeds as Planned

Despite the health issue, the match between Fnatic and Sentinels will still proceed as planned. The player feels well enough to compete later today.

History of COVID-19 at International Tournaments

Fnatic has unfortunately experienced COVID-19 issues at international tournaments in the past. Last March, Fnatic star Derke tested positive for COVID-19 before the start of VCT Masters in Reykjavík, Iceland.
