Fnatic’s Participation in VCT EMEA Hindered Again as Backup Players Step In

Fnatic Substitute Player Maks “kamyk” Rychlewski to Replace Emir “Alfajer” Beder at VCT EMEA Tomorrow

Fnatic’s substitute player, Maks “kamyk” Rychlewski, will be stepping in once again to replace Emir “Alfajer” Beder at VCT EMEA tomorrow. Alfajer is experiencing visa issues that are preventing him from flying to Berlin, Germany. The team is actively working to bring Alfajer back to the starting lineup as soon as possible. However, in the short term, they have no choice but to wait.

“We got an update yesterday that they are prioritizing visas for earthquake victims so that’s where the further delay comes from,” said Fnatic’s VALORANT team director, Colin “CoJo” Johnson. “We got good news on his long-term visa this week—but just waiting on the short-term solution to come through any day.”

Fnatic has had a successful start in VCT EMEA, even without Alfajer. The team performed well with kamyk and secured a victory against Giants in their opening match on March 27.

Fnatic defeated Giants 2-0 with a decisive 13-3 win on Icebox and a close 13-11 victory on Split. This showcases the effectiveness of Jake “Boaster” Howlett’s tactical system, even when they don’t have their full lineup. Fnatic had an impressive performance at VCT LOCK//IN São Paulo and emerged as champions after defeating world champions LOUD in the grand finals.

During the match against Giants, Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov and Leo Janesson had the most frags, with 35 and 31 respectively. However, kamyk also performed well, utilizing Killjoy and Cypher with a positive K/D ratio and a 1.09 rating, which is higher than star duelist Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev, according to VLR.gg’s statistics.

In the second round of VCT EMEA, Fnatic will be facing off against BBL tomorrow at 11am CT. BBL suffered a 0-2 loss in their opening match against Karmine Corp, with both maps on Icebox and Split being closely contested.
