Fnatic secures VALORANT Champions playoffs spot by defeating Vision Strikers

Fnatic Becomes First Team to Qualify for VALORANT Champions Playoffs

In an impressive display of skill, Fnatic emerged victorious in the Group D winners match against Vision Strikers, securing their spot in the VALORANT Champions playoffs.

Fnatic has proven themselves to be a formidable team in Berlin, despite some initial doubts. Considered by many to be weaker than their NA and EU counterparts, Fnatic has remained undefeated and is forcing a reevaluation of power rankings. Their latest triumph over Vision Strikers, a dominant Korean team, is a testament to their abilities.

On their map pick, Icebox, Fnatic dominated the early rounds by consistently retaking the sites, even after Vision Strikers managed to plant the Spike. However, Vision Strikers fought back, winning the next six rounds to take the lead. Stax’s impressive one-vs-four situation in round nine showcased his individual skill. The first half ended in a 6-6 scoreline, setting up an even playing field for the second half.

Vision Strikers started the second half strong, winning two rounds before Fnatic broke their streak in round 15. Fnatic then went on a dominant offense, winning the next four rounds with remarkable performances from Doma and Derke. The map ended with a 13-10 victory for Fnatic.

The third map, Fracture, saw Fnatic secure their second win on this new map. Although Vision Strikers put up a strong fight, Fnatic proved to be comfortable and dropped only three rounds in the first half. Derke’s clutch performance in round six, planting the Spike with seconds to spare and eliminating MaKo, exemplified Fnatic’s ability to stay cool under pressure. Fnatic secured their second win of the tournament in round 19.

With this victory, Fnatic qualifies for the playoffs and will have a break until December 8. Vision Strikers will face the winner between FULL SENSE and Cloud9 Blue on December 6 at 2pm CT.
