Fnatic Boaster Aims for Consecutive 2-0 Victories in Tournament

Fnatic Dominates KRÜ Esports in Opening Match of VCT Masters Reykjavík

Fnatic showcased their dominance against KRÜ Esports today in a decisive victory at VCT Masters Reykjavík. With commanding wins of 13-5 on Haven and 13-4 on Icebox, Fnatic swiftly eliminated KRÜ and now await the challenge of facing one of the tournament favorites, Sentinels.

Despite Sentinels’ reputation as heavy favorites in the VALORANT event, Fnatic’s IGL Jake “Boaster” Howlett has set high expectations for himself and his team for the remainder of the event.

Fueled by Ambition, Fnatic Aims for a Perfect Run

“We aspire to be the first team on and the last team off,” he told post-match. “We’ve tasted the stage and we’re ready to overcome anyone in our path. I’m aiming for those 2-0 victories all the way throughout the tournament, including the final with a 3-0 win. It’s time to ignite the NA-EU rivalry.”

Fnatic’s impressive 2-0 win over KRÜ is an ideal start for the charismatic captain’s ambition to remain undefeated at Reykjavík. However, the previous SUMN FC roster did not begin their Fnatic journey looking like a team capable of dominating the international stage. They faced several obstacles before qualifying for Masters One in VCT Stage One.

New Additions Propel Fnatic to Success

Ahead of Stage Two, Fnatic made crucial changes, adding duelists Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev and sentinel/utility master Martin “Magnum” Peňkov. The team’s performance drastically improved after the inclusion of these new players, and Boaster credits both of them for the recent upswing.

“We were missing that superstar factor,” he explained. “There were issues with the previous roster that required a change. Bringing in Derke and Magnum was a bold move that has paid off. Both players have seamlessly integrated into the team, with Derke being a superstar and Magnum bringing creativity, vocal leadership, and a positive attitude. Having him around improves the overall atmosphere during games.”

Both Derke and Magnum showcased their skills in the EMEA Challengers Finals, solidifying Fnatic’s position as one of Europe’s top teams. Boaster’s quest for 2-0 victories saw three consecutive wins, leading Fnatic to the grand finals and securing their spot in Reykjavík.

In the grand finals, Fnatic fell after an intense five-map series against fellow EU representative Team Liquid. Boaster expressed great respect and admiration for the rival team and is eager to see a rematch in the Masters grand finals.

Strong Bonds and Fierce Competition

“We genuinely wish the best for our fellow EU team,” Boaster shared. “We’ve been good friends even before the game existed. We have a strong bond and friendship, and we want success for each other. If we both make it to the final, it will be an exciting match, and that’s when friendships are truly tested—just kidding!”

Behind the camera’s smiles and lightheartedness, Fnatic’s in-game leader is a force to be reckoned with. Boaster has elevated his team to new heights in VALORANT. Their upcoming match on May 25 will pit them against the reigning North American champions, Sentinels.
