FaZe Clan Emerges Victorious in VALORANT Series Against Evil Geniuses at NA Last Chance Qualifier
In an intense marathon series at the North American Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), FaZe Clan clinched a hard-fought victory over Evil Geniuses. The VALORANT match went into multiple overtime rounds across three maps, with FaZe Clan ultimately emerging as the winners.
In the previous Stage Two tournament, FaZe narrowly missed the opportunity to compete at Masters Copenhagen due to an internet outage at the facility where they were playing. As a result, they finished in third place and were unable to secure a spot in Denmark. However, they entered the LCQ as one of the favorites to secure the final North American spot.
Evil Geniuses had a successful run in Stage Two, particularly in the group stage where they defeated the reigning Masters Reykjavík champions OpTic. Although they did not advance as far in the playoffs as they had hoped, they finished in the 5th-6th place tier. Fans of Evil Geniuses are optimistic about the team’s performance in the LCQ and anticipate further improvements in their gameplay.
Icebox: FaZe Clan Takes an Early Lead
During the match on Icebox, FaZe Clan experimented with their composition by positioning babybay on Raze in the hopes of making a significant impact. Although babybay did not achieve the desired impact, FaZe Clan dominated the first half. Small mistakes from Evil Geniuses, such as C0M accidentally hitting reformed with a shock dart and Boostio being caught with his knife out while peeking an angle, hindered their defensive performance. FaZe Clan finished the first half with a commanding 8-4 lead.
Breeze: Evil Geniuses Mount a Comeback
Evil Geniuses initially struggled on Breeze, losing the pistol round and experiencing difficulty regaining confidence in subsequent rounds. However, they ultimately regained their footing, led by Boostio who delivered a dominant performance in the first half. Despite their initial setback, FaZe Clan fought back and prevented the map from slipping away, forcing the game into four rounds of overtime before securing a 15-13 victory.
Ascent: A Battle of Overtime and Consecutive Attack Rounds
The Ascent map witnessed a closely contested battle between the two teams. The score remained even after the first half, and both sides exchanged blows throughout the second half, leading to another overtime situation. After a series of successful attack rounds in overtime, FaZe Clan finally managed to secure a round on defense, thanks to dicey’s skillful use of the Operator. FaZe Clan emerged victorious with a 19-17 score.
With this impressive win, FaZe Clan advances in the upper bracket, while Evil Geniuses moves to the lower bracket of the LCQ.
